In addition to in-depth pieces on the craft of writing and meditations on the work of others, I post prose poems accompanied by my own paper art. Mostly, I write and make and reach out with the hope of being part of a kinder world.

I am a National Book Award finalist and the author of some 40 books in multiple genres, most recently You Are Not Vanished Here: Essays and My Life in Paper: Adventures in Ephemera. My first novel for adults, Tomorrow Will Bring Sunday’s News (April 2025), has received a starred Booklist review, among other praise. News about upcoming gallery exhibits and craft shows can be found at bind-arts.com. My paper arts are sold through my Etsy shop.

I teach on behalf of many organizations and provide private manuscript critiques, following many years as an adjunct at the University of Pennsylvania. To learn more about the many books that I have written on the craft of writing, visit Juncture Workshops here.
